UK Learning Providers
This site provides open linked data about UK Learning Providers. Initially the only data available is for Universities but this map be expanded in time.
We use learning-provider rather than "institution" or "university" as the codes we are using to uniquely identify universities are "UK Learning Provider Reference Numbers" (UKPRN). We only (currently) resolve URIs for universities, but we may expand the service to include data on all learning providers in the future, but no promises.

We are still waiting for final confirmation of the license for the data from UKRLP.
The data on consortium/groups and linkset to DBPedia and Gateway to Research are CC0, you may use them for any purpose (but a credit is still nice, if possible).
The data on the locations of postcodes is taken from http://data.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/ and is subject to their license.
Data from DBPedia was extracted from Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License.
The mapping from UKPRN to HESA IDs is taken from the HESA Website, but no formal license is specified.
Corrections
The core data of University IDs, names, homepages and addresses are supplied periodically from UK Register of Learning Providers.
The mappingconsortium/group and dbpedia identifiers is maintained by the learning-providers.data.ac.uk webmaster (currently Christopher Gutteridge).
The postcode geo locations are from http://data.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/.
